After reinstalling Origin, I discovered that this is a Visual C++ issue. If you are playing Origin, Uplay, Steam or XboxLive Games, you are going to have a lot of C++ show up in your programs list (see control panel - Addremove program). I copied the offending files from the windowssystem32 directory and put them all over, including the origin directory and the error went away but I got a new error, a failed to start correctly error 0xc000007b error.

However, try going to your root Origin folder and see if you have a file called OriginTMP.exe, if so delete it and retry. If that doesn't work, i would suggest trying uninstalling and installing again.
I think it's making a call to the right dll but getting one it wasn't expecting. Anyway, this worked for me:

Download the .rar (windows apps has a free app to unpack it) find the files you've unpacked and jot down their names and then BACK UP THE ORIGINALS. Copy them out of the Windowssystem32 directory and the WindowssysWOW64 directory to a backup folder on your desktop just in case.

Then put the unpacked files in the directories and (some won't copy) it should work.
